Meet The Dentist
Get to Know Dr. Monil Mehta
Dr. Mehta loves building connections with his dental patients so he can improve their smiles and even their quality of life using a combination of healthcare, science, and art. He says that watching someone’s reaction as a long treatment plan comes to fruition is deeply rewarding. He’s eager to welcome you into his dental office, but first, you can learn a little more about Dr. Mehta below.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
In middle school, Dr. Mehta was assigned a project to research the field of dentistry for a career fair. This is what first planted the seed in his mind to become a dentist. As time went by, he realized that dentistry was a combination of all his interests (health, service, and art). What really solidified this happened later when he founded his own nonprofit dental clinic in India. The process of working with sponsors and other interest groups showed him that he was clearly on the right path.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Mehta graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, and he started his clinical career in Farmington while doing some part-time work in Chaska. While he was still an associate dentist, he wanted to prep himself for dental office ownership. So, he devoted countless hours to seek out additional training in areas like implant dentistry, clear aligner orthodontics, sleep apnea therapy, biomimetic restorative dentistry, and laser gum therapy.
These days, he continually seeks more training and is currently studying 3D printing and Botox treatment for both cosmetics and TMD therapy. On top of all this, he is also a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Mehta grew up in Tennessee with two entrepreneur parents who worked long hours to give him and his twin brother an amazing childhood. He is recently engaged to his beautiful fiancé, Raveena, and they are planning their wedding for 2023. Health and fitness are very important to Dr. Mehta, so he likes to exercise at least five times a week (usually before work) as well as hike, snowboard, and golf. He also considers himself to be a huge finance nerd as well as a foodie. Dr. Mehta is currently involved with a couple of nonprofit groups and enjoys devoting his time as both a board member and active volunteer.
